#ArtsMatterNI

What is #ArtsMattersNI?
A steering group convened late last year to raise awareness of the value of arts and culture to NI life - including promoting social and economic goals through local regeneration, attracting tourists, developing of talent and innovation, improving health and wellbeing, delivering essential services and contributing to the local economy - and the serious effects of any decrease in funding allocation.
Arts Matter in Northern Ireland (#ArtsMatterNI) is an arts advocacy group of professionals, participants and volunteers from across Northern Ireland.

How you can help

If you haven't already done so, support the campaign by signing up on the Arts Matters NI website.
There is an ongoing call for examples (images, blog pieces, video, audio) which demonstrate the high impact of the arts in as many ways as possible.
Use #artsmatterni to share content or send material directly to ArtsMatterNI

Please support their campaign!!

Glasgow School of Art

A devastating day for Glasgow

For years at art school, we joked about how the Mack is such a tinderbox - the whole thing will go down in 15 seconds. I never thought it could ever happen. Absolutely devastating. I can't even put into words how painful these images are.

(Picture was not taken by me.)

Bitter Knitter

A good friend decided to teach me how to knit, I love my wool and love the colour however, I'm a wee bit unmotivated because I don't really need another scarf in my life BUT the first thing everyone learns is how to knit a scarf so don't want to rock the boat too soon...

My Neighbour Totoro

A few progress shots of my sewing attempts, I found a free pattern online (just google it, so easy! Thank you to the creator). I amended it a wee bit and added some peas so he would sit upright happily - and steadily, for shelf sitting.

Made just in time for Christmas! My brother's girlfriend is obsessed with Studio Ghibli so I hope she likes it.
